Sometimes, you get bored with the usual color combinations or confused which colors go with what but I found this site that has the most amazing color palettes. Here are some of my favorites,

We all know who Tyra Banks is. She's a supermodel, host, producer, author, CEO.. the list goes on! And now I just learned she recently added another title to her list Harvard Business School Alum! Can you believe it?

Been really busy this past few weeks! But once everything  is settled I''ll definitely pay this blog more attention. In the meantime here's something I've been seeing around the internet. Beauty Routine

I meet a lot of people who are intimidated and overwhelmed with makeup. Yes, when you start out you'll commit some mistakes.. but its sort of like falling from a bicycle.. That's how you learn! Before you know it, ou've fallen into a routine and can put on makeup in 5 minutes! Yes 5 minutes.. trust me I've done it multiple times.. So, if you're just starting out, here's a good regimen for you to try:

1. Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer

A tinted moisturizer is a 2-in-1 product! It moisturizes your skin and at the same time is a good alternative for foundation. Plus its light so you wont feel like your wearing makeup.

or an alternative would be

BB Cream

Its like liquid foundation but makes your skin better! Amazing right

2. Lip and Cheek Tint

This doubles as a blush: which is perfect since it gives you that natural blush look

and as a lippy: which complements the natural looking flush on your cheeks

or an alternative would be

Cream Blush

A cream blush is easier to apply than powder and also gives that naturally flush look

For lips I would suggest a 

Tinted Lip Balm

This doubles to moisturize lips and the color isnt too strong that you'd look so trying hard.

There you have it an easy 5 minute routine

But if you have extra time

add:

Eyeliner

To define eyes. 

Update Your Look

In a style rut? Ever feel like you have nothing to wear? Admit it! We've always had moments where we feel like we don't have anything to wear. While most people would opt to buy new items to update their look, a cheaper and easier alternative is to use accessories to make your outfits look new and fresh!

A statement necklace like this could make any outfit standout. Imagine wearing a white shirt and jeans. Drab right? But if you wear it with this necklace.. Instant Chic!

Scarfs are an easy alternative to liven up any outfit. Wear it around your neck as a belt or tie it up on your bag.. the possibilities are endless!

A watch can easily make an outfit look complete.. Wear a watch in a bold color to highlight your wrist or in a neutral color to tone down your outfit!

Pomodoro Technique

Do you know what a Pomodoro is?

Yes, its that timer you use when cooking or baking. However, I recently found out that there is more use to it than knowing when to get the cookies out of the oven

Introducing the Pomodoro Technique!

According to the website: 

The Pomodoro Technique® is a way to get the most out of time management. Turn time into a valuable ally to accomplish what we want to do and chart continuous improvement in the way we do it.

How does it work?

Choose a task to be accomplished

Set the Pomodoro to 25 minutes (the Pomodoro is the timer)

Work on the task until the Pomodoro rings, then put a check on your sheet of paper

Take a short break (5 minutes is OK)

Every 4 Pomodoros take a longer break

It's that SIMPLE!

Personally, I found this technique very effective. it put things into perspective and has motivated me to become more productive in a span of 5 minutes. Today alone, I have accomplished much more than I normally would. It also helps me not to get overwhelmed by the amount of time (or lack thereof) I have to do my tasks. 

I personally recommend this method.

Sadly, I do not have my own Pomodoro (which would be so cute on my study table), I instead use Pomodroido an app from the Android market. It's absolutely free! So if you have a Droid phone and would like to try this Technique that would be a good place to start. 

Prom Season

Here in the Philippines, Prom season is right around the corner. If you don't have a gown yet here are some gown inspirations for you from the recently concluded Paris Couture Fashion Week.

Classy and Glamorous

Prom is definitely a time to look back on and reminisce with your friends. If you'd like to look classy during and after (even 30 years from now) your prom specifically in your pictures then classy and glamorous is the way to go. 

This kind of neckline is not commonly seen in formal wear. This is sure to turn heads!

Lace and beads not only make this gown appealing but also  interesting from near or afar.

Who said classy is boring? A floral print is a refreshing take on a classic silhouette.

Now these gowns are not for the faint of heart. These are for those ladies who wish to be seen! Be sure to be confident in order for you to wear the gown and not the other way around.

The ombre effect is definitely beautiful. But maybe a different color for teenagers?

Short and Sweet.

If gowns arent your thing then these dresses are short but would definitelly get you noticed with beautiful silhouette and materials. 

Regardless of what you wear for prom, make sure to be true to yourself and have fun. At the end of the day it is not what you wear that matters but how you spent the night with friends and the memories you create for a lifetime.
